What's new

New features and fixes, newest first. Lubna is in a pilot with a small group of teachers, so things change quickly. If something here doesn’t match what you see, refresh the page.

  • Schools in Lubna. The Lubna team can now set up your school or district, record its data agreement and connect Clever or ClassLink. If you belong to a school, a workspace switcher lets you move between My classes and your school. See Schools and districts.
  • Move a class to your school. Move a class you haven’t run a quiz with yet into your school’s workspace, one class at a time. See Manage classes and students.
  • A new lesson page. Lesson sections are now rich text you can format and edit in place.
  • A new worksheet editor. Each section type has its own fields, so worksheets are quicker to edit.
  • Live quiz polish. Better spacing on the class page, a clearer host timer, and no overlap on small phones during a quiz.
  • Help is one click away. Teachers have a Help link in the sidebar, and students find Help for students in the Reading & display menu.
  • A new dashboard home. Quick actions, an “Up next” list for your current class, your recent lessons, quizzes and exit tickets, and three first steps for new teachers.
  • Edit classes and rosters. Rename or archive a class, add students, change names (on your device only), remove or restore students, and replace codes. See Manage students.
  • Start a lesson from uploaded pages. Add photos, screenshots, PDFs or Word files and Lubna suggests a title, topic and standards. See Lessons from files.
  • Choose what to create with a lesson. Tick a worksheet, quiz, exit ticket or suggested video and Lubna drafts them right after the lesson.
  • Worksheets. Build printable worksheets from a lesson or topic, with support and extension copies and an answer key. See Worksheets.
  • Video suggestions for lessons. Find short YouTube videos that fit your lesson, check them, and attach the one you want. See Lesson videos.
  • Quiz from a file. Draft a quiz from a photo, PDF or Word document, and untick pages you don’t want. Your phone camera works too.
  • Refine a whole quiz with AI. Ask for a change in plain words (“make questions 3 to 5 easier”), review the before and after, then keep or undo it. See AI editing.
  • Quiz from a lesson and exit tickets from a lesson in one click.
  • Easier control over answer time. Untimed questions, one time for the whole quiz, and Pause, Resume and +15 s while you host.
  • Auto-close and auto-next. A question can close as soon as everyone has answered, and the next one can start by itself.
  • Integrity signals. See when a student left the quiz or pasted an answer, shuffle answer choices per student, lock joining and remove a player. Signals are shown to you only.
  • Weekly review. Draft a short spaced-review set for each student from the past weeks, check it, then release it. See Weekly review.
  • Teaching assistant. Ask questions about your classes, results, lessons and conferences in a chat. Redesigned on the same day with a cleaner layout. See Teaching assistant.
  • Clear AI working states. Every AI action shows its progress, with Stop and Retry.
  • Return to a live quiz from anywhere. A banner takes you back to the quiz you are hosting.
  • School admins can set teaching policy. District and school admins choose required, default, allowed and suggested instructional models. See Teaching policy.
  • Sidebar and class switcher. The sidebar is grouped into Teaching and Library, and a class switcher sets your current class so forms fill it in.
  • Courses shared across class periods. Several classes can follow the same course plan.
  • A student home page. Students see their To do list and recent results, and can stay signed in on a shared device with “Remember me on this device”. See Signing in.
  • Nicknames from word lists. Students pick a fun, safe nickname like “Sparkly Narwhal 7” instead of typing a name.
  • Paper Desk avatars. Students design a cut-paper avatar that shows up in quizzes.
  • My progress. Students see their own skills, this week’s work and a streak. Never a ranking.
  • Gems, quests and a cosmetic shop. Students earn gems for finishing work and spend them on avatar items. Nothing costs real money, and teachers can turn it off per class.
  • Reading and display settings. Dyslexia-friendly font, bigger text, more spacing, paper colors, high contrast and less motion.
  • Sign-up is by invitation during the pilot.
  • Each teacher has a daily and monthly AI allowance.
  • The assistant and AI tools stay on teaching work and politely refuse other requests.
  • Generated codes avoid numbers and letter combinations kids giggle at.
  • Stronger protections so one account can never see another account’s data.
  • Lubna’s new look. The Paper Desk design: cut paper on a classroom desk, with gentle motion that turns off if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Classes are the hub. Each class has its own page with its roster, course, activities, students and conferences.
  • Exit tickets. A quick end-of-lesson check with a confidence rating, up to two questions and a “What’s still unclear?” box, plus an AI summary of what students found unclear. See Exit tickets.
  • Parent-teacher conferences. Create sign-up slots, share a private booking link with families, and print the schedule. Lubna can draft a one-page prep brief for each conference. See Schedule conferences.
  • Course and unit planner. Map a semester into units and see which Illinois standards are covered. See Courses.
  • Lesson planner. Draft, edit and save lesson plans aligned to Illinois standards.
  • Homework mode. Assign a quiz for students to do on their own time, with a due date.
  • Second try. Let students try again after a wrong answer for no points or half points.
  • More question types. Polls, select all that apply, and put in order.
  • Question images and math. Add a picture with alt text to any question, and write math with LaTeX.
  • CSV import and export. Bring questions in from a spreadsheet, Kahoot or Quizlet, and export results.
  • Team mode. Split the class into teams for a live quiz.
  • Quizzes from videos and web pages. Paste a YouTube link, a transcript or a web page and Lubna drafts questions from it.
  • Feedback on wrong answers. Each answer choice can explain why it is wrong, and students see it after the question closes.
  • Sign in with Clever or ClassLink, and share quizzes to Google Classroom.
  • Follow-up practice. After a quiz, each student can get practice aimed at what they missed.
