Edit questions

Every question in a quiz is a card you can edit. Open a quiz from Quizzes to see its cards. Changes stay on your screen until you select Save at the bottom of the page.

Use the Question type menu at the top of a card to switch types. Switching resets the fields that no longer apply, so choose the type first.

Type How it works
Multiple choice 2 to 6 choices, one correct. Select the circle next to the right one.
True / false Pick True or False as the correct answer.
Short answer Students type an answer. You list Acceptable answers (one per line).
Select all that apply 3 to 6 choices. Tick every correct one. Students must pick all of them, and only those, to score.
Put in order 3 to 6 items. You enter them in the correct order and students see them shuffled.
Poll (no right answer) 2 to 6 choices. No correct answer and no points. Good for opinions and “which topic should we review?”

Add more choices with Add choice and remove one with the X beside it. The card will not let you go below the minimum for that type.

Reorder questions with Move up and Move down. Remove one with Remove question. Add question at the bottom adds a new multiple choice card.

Feedback helps students learn from a wrong answer.

  • Select Add answer feedback on a multiple choice, true/false or select-all card. A small box appears under each choice. Write a short note such as “This is the setting, not the theme.” It is shown only to a student who picks that choice.
  • The Explanation (shown after the question) box is for the right reasoning. Everyone sees it after the question closes. If a student gets it wrong and you wrote no note for their choice, they see the explanation instead.

Can’t think of feedback for each wrong answer? The AI can draft it. See Change questions with AI.

Each card has a Time limit (seconds) box. Enter a number from 5 to 300, or turn on No limit.

To set the same time on every question, use Time per question near the top of the quiz and select Apply to all questions. The choices are 20, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 and 300 seconds, or No limit. When you run a live game you can override these again. See Live quiz settings.

A question with no limit closes when you close it, or when everyone has answered if auto-close is on.

You can add one image to a question once the quiz is saved.

  1. Save the quiz first. The image box says “Save the quiz to add an image” until you do.
  2. Under Image (optional), choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 2 MB.
  3. Fill in Image description (alt text, required). Describe the image for students who cannot see it. Lubna will not let you save an image without it.

Use Remove image to take it off. Please do not upload photos of students.

Put math between dollar signs and it shows as proper notation. For example, $x^2 + 3 = 12$ appears as a formula, and $\frac{1}{2}$ shows a fraction. Use double dollar signs for a large, centered formula. A preview appears under the box as you type. It works in the question, in choices and in the explanation.

If you picked standards when you drafted the quiz, a Standard menu appears on each card. Choose the one that fits, or None. Results then show how students did on each standard.

Lubna checks each question when you save and tells you what to fix, for example “Question 3: mark the correct choice” or “Question 5: fill in or remove empty choices.”
