Draft a quiz from a source

Instead of typing a topic, you can point Lubna at the material you already use. The AI reads it and writes questions from what it says. Start from Quizzes, then New quiz. The tabs across the top of the form choose where the questions come from.

Type a topic, or paste a passage, article or set of notes. When you paste a full text, the questions come from that text.

Open the Transcript tab and paste a video transcript. Timestamps like 1:23 or [00:01:23] are fine and entirely optional.

  1. Open the YouTube video tab.
  2. Paste the link.
  3. Select Draft with AI.

The video must be public. If Lubna cannot read it, copy the transcript from YouTube and use the Transcript tab instead. On quizzes drafted from a video, questions can show a Video at link that jumps to the right moment in the video.

Open the Web page tab and paste the address of an article. Lubna reads the text on the page. Pages that need a login cannot be read.

Open the File tab to use a handout, worksheet or textbook page.

  1. Select Choose files, or drop files on the box. You can also paste a screenshot.
  2. To snap a page with your device, select Use camera, allow camera access, then select Capture photo.
  3. Accepted types are PNG, JPEG, WebP, PDF and DOCX. You can add up to 6 files.
  4. Put the files in order if there is more than one. Use the move buttons beside each file.
  5. Select Upload. When it finishes you will see “Files uploaded.”

Lubna then reads the text from your files and shows it to you.

The Text we read panel lists the text page by page. Check that it matches your file. Clear, well-lit photos work best.

  • Untick a page (Include page 3, for example) to leave it out. Use this for answer keys, cover pages or anything off topic.
  • The panel tells you how many pages are included. At least one page must stay ticked.

When the text looks right, choose the grade, subject, number of questions and optional standards, then select Draft with AI.

You land on Review your quiz, where nothing is saved until you select Save. Draft quizzes from a video, web page or file remember where they came from. See Create a quiz for the review, save and publish steps.

  • Please keep student names and contact details out of anything you paste.
  • Questions are written for the grade and subject you pick. Choose them before you draft.
  • If a source is very long, untick the pages you do not need so the questions stay focused.
  • Your uploaded files are used to write this quiz. They are set to expire after 7 days, but your saved quiz stays.
